Join designer, director, performer and theatre-maker, Naomi Smyth, who’ll be introducing you to the world of Virtual Reality (VR) Theatre.
How is VR theatre different from theatre in real life? And how can we connect the two to make an even more powerful experience?
Over two sessions, you’ll dive headlong into the possibilities presented by VR, whilst understanding some of the techniques and ideas used by successful VR practitioners before creating your own VR world using Mozilla’s Hubs.
Finally, immersed in a simple VR space, Naomi will direct you in a number of performance-based exercises to demonstrate the possibilities of making theatre in a virtual world. (NB. You do not need a VT headset or any other kit beyond a laptop/desktop computer to participate.)
This introductory course is provided with automated closed captions and can be provided as text/audio/visual recordings to Assemblers after the session.
*A shared screen/sibling discount is also available, whereby anyone can join the sessions for half-price on the same screen up to a maximum of three participants.
